About

Purpose of Establishment

Our goal is to create a Japan where a good argument is adopted. To save the country is to make it a country where correct views are accepted.

There are many think tanks in Japan, but they are subcontractors for the bureaucracy and large corporations and bend the facts according to the demands of their clients. We cannot fulfill our role as think tanks if we do this.

We will continue to present our beliefs and opinions and present alternatives to those who want to save the country. Our mission is not realpolitik perse, but advocacy.

We will continue to be a think tank that people trust, saying, “I can go there and ask them what is right.”

Think tanks around the world exist to accumulate private-sector knowledge to counter the bureaucracy. Modern political parties can realize democracy because politicians can counter the bureaucracy with the help of think tanks and link the will for freedom to the national interest.

In our country, on the other hand, the bureaucracy(red tape)has been better and the public has long been more trusting. However, politics without a change of government has reached its limits. The opposition parties cannot do anything without the bureaucrats, and the ruling party cannot correct the bureaucrats when they make mistakes and do not know what to do. In the first place, elections are meaningless if politicians are at the mercy of the bureaucracy.

After the defeat in the war, Japan had sealed all contradictions with two social contracts: ” Japan could advocate for pacifism while under the protection of the U.S. military,” and “As long as we work diligently, our salaries will continue to rise. In response to the chronic deflationary recession represented by the Lehman Shock, the political situation has not even been satisfactory regarding economic recovery. Like the Corona disaster, the current bureaucracy has become incapable of even satisfactorily dealing with disasters.

The illusion that the Japanese people can rest easy because the bureaucracy is first-rate, even if the politics is third-rate, has been dashed. The bureaucracy has lost its ability to take charge of the government. It is the crisis in our country.

We must propose policies that we believe are right, disseminate them to the public, and realize them through politics. We aim to propose, disseminate, and realize the policies we believe are right.
